L'Isle-aux-Coudres never sleeps, not even in winter. And it's not so cold on the island: the proximity of the big river makes the climate milder than in the big cities. Moreover it boils with energy and action. Skidoo trails, cross-country skiing, skating, hiking on foot or on snowshoes, gliding. Country houses or welcoming bed and breakfasts, small boutiques, and if you're in for alpine skiing, the Massif de Charlevoix and Mont Grand-Fonds are nearby.
The island also features two international events: an ice canoe race between the island and the north shore and a dogsled race. And what about our winter Carnaval? Fantastic! Really, these islanders are bustling with energy in winter, singing and dancing.
